More Than a Summer Camp: BizKid Camp Is Building the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

By: Cathy Nedd, Creator, The BizKid Project

What if your child learned how to build a business, create a brand, make money, think creatively, and believe in their own ideas?

That’s exactly what happens at the BizKid Camp.

Designed to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs, BizKid Camp gives youth a hands-on experience in business, branding, marketing, leadership, and innovation—all in a fun, exciting environment filled with recreation, field trips, teamwork, and real-world learning experiences.

At BizKid Camp, young people don’t just sit in classrooms listening to lectures. They learn by doing.

One of the most exciting parts of the camp is the opportunity for campers to visit actual businesses and meet real-life entrepreneurs face-to-face. They get to walk inside successful enterprises, ask questions, hear personal success stories, and see firsthand how businesses operate behind the scenes.

Last summer, BizKid campers visited The Three Thirteen Store on Livernois in Detroit and met owner Clement “Fame” Brown, a creative entrepreneur who has turned his vision into a thriving brand and retail business.

During the visit, campers learned one of the key principles taught throughout the camp:

Buy low. Add value. Sell higher… at a profit.

Inside the store, campers saw racks of branded apparel, custom merchandise, accessories, socks, keychains, and more—each item representing creativity, marketing, strategy, and entrepreneurship in action. They learned how products are selected, branded, displayed, marketed, and sold to customers.

But perhaps most importantly, they saw what is possible.

Campers came prepared with thoughtful questions, eager to understand how businesses grow, how ideas become income, and what it takes to turn passion into profit. Experiences like these help youth connect the dots between creativity and commerce in a way textbooks simply cannot.

That’s what makes BizKid Camp different.

The camp combines practical entrepreneurship lessons with exciting real-world exposure. Campers explore topics like:

  • Starting a business

  • Creating a brand

  • Marketing products and services

  • Using AI tools and technology

  • Designing logos and promotional materials

  • Building confidence and leadership skills

  • Learning how money works

  • Thinking like an entrepreneur

And while the learning is powerful, the experience is also packed with fun.

Throughout the two-week camp, youth enjoy recreational activities, interactive projects, team challenges, games, field trips, and opportunities to make new friends while developing skills that can last a lifetime.

Parents consistently appreciate that BizKid Camp creates an environment where children are both engaged and empowered. Campers leave not only with knowledge—but with increased confidence, creativity, communication skills, and a stronger belief in their ability to succeed.

In a world changing rapidly through technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, BizKid Camp helps prepare young people for the future by teaching them how to think independently, solve problems, create opportunities, and dream bigger.

These are not just camp activities.

These are real lessons.Real entrepreneurs.Real experiences.Real impact.

And for many children, it may be the very first spark that helps them discover their future.

Parents interested in giving their child a summer experience that is educational, exciting, and empowering are encouraged to register today.
