Lighting the Spark: Why I Created the BizKid Project

As a child, I never saw myself in the traditional professions—doctor, lawyer, teacher, or nurse. Instead, I was always creating. I was the kid who tinkered, imagined, and built things from nothing. While I did the typical jobs like babysitting or mowing lawns to earn money, I also found my own unique ways to hustle. I drew pictures—especially portraits of people’s children—and got paid for it. I designed clothes, painted cartoons on my jeans, and dreamed of becoming a fashion designer.

But what I didn’t have was an outlet.

I didn’t have a program, a mentor, or even the language to understand that what I was doing was entrepreneurship. I often wonder how different my journey might have been if someone had recognized that spark early on—if I had been introduced to the fundamentals of business, creativity, and ownership at a young age.

That “what if” became my “why.”

I created The BizKid Project and BizKid Camp to give today’s youth what I didn’t have—exposure, tools, and confidence to explore entrepreneurship early in life. I wanted to create a space where creativity is celebrated, ideas are nurtured, and kids learn that their talents can translate into real opportunities.

And the results have been nothing short of inspiring.

Watching young campers dream up innovative business ideas, collaborate in teams, and proudly present what they’ve created has been incredibly rewarding. These are more than just camp activities—these are confidence-building, future-shaping experiences.

This year, I’m excited to expand our impact with the second annual BizKid Summer Camp, now offered over two weeks:June 15–19 and June 22–26.

We welcome youth ages 8–14—and even younger if they’re ready—to join us on this journey of discovery, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

Because sometimes, all it takes is a spark.

Enroll your child today—and let’s start building the next generation of innovators.
