It all starts with a spark.
Let's give them the tools to turn that spark into something big.

Whether through a week-long summer camp or an afterschool enrichment program, the mission of the BizKid Project is clear:  To empower youth with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to explore business ownership and dream boldly about their future.

About the BizKid Project

The BizKid Project is an innovative, activity-based entrepreneurship program designed to expose students to the fundamentals of starting and running a business.

Pathways for Young People Form Early

The BizKid Project was innovatively created for youth ages 8 to 16

Created for youth ages 8 to 16, the program offers both summer camp and afterschool experiences where students learn by doing—turning their ideas into real-world business concepts.

From brainstorming business ideas and designing logos to building one-page websites and creating marketing materials, students complete tasks that mirror what real entrepreneurs do. Whether working individually or in teams, participants receive hands-on training using tools like Canva, Wix, and AI writing platforms, while also learning up to 50 essential business terms and mastering the art of presentation and pitching.

The experience is fun, fast-paced, and deeply educational—offering early exposure that helps students make informed decisions about their future careers, and planting the seed that entrepreneurship is a real and accessible option.
Through a series of short, engaging videos, students are guided through every step of building a business:

  • Choosing a business idea

  • Naming the business

  • Designing a logo and brand

  • Writing a business description and promotional content

  • Creating a website

  • Understanding business finances

  • Practicing leadership and public speaking skills

The program culminates in a high-energy BizKid Showcase, where students present their businesses to an audience of parents, siblings, peers, and camp counselors. It’s an empowering moment that builds confidence, leadership skills, and a belief in their own potential.

The BizKid Project is the brainchild of Cathy Nedd, a serial entrepreneur who recognized her enterprising spirit at a young age—but lacked early exposure to entrepreneurship in her household or community. Over time, she sought out mentors and forged her own path. Her passion for guiding the next generation led to the creation of the BizKid Project—designed to pique curiosity, inspire dreams, and show youth that entrepreneurship is not just a concept—it’s an option.

“When I was young, I knew I was different. I was always coming up with ideas, but no one around me modeled entrepreneurship. The BizKid Project is what I wish I had—something to show me that owning a business was possible.” – Cathy Nedd
